‘My mother-in-law announced my pregnancy online before I’d even told my family’

A woman has opened up about how her mother-in-law “ruined” her pregnancy announcement.

Speaking on TikTok, Morgan Lee explained that after finding out she was pregnant, the first person she turned to was her partner’s mum because she was “scared”.

But what she hadn’t expected was for her to share the exciting news online before she’d had a chance to tell her family herself.

In a video that has been viewed more than 125,000 times on the platform, she admitted that the inconsiderate action made her want to “fight her”.

Morgan said: “A week after my fiancé was arrested because he was being naughty, you know, whatever, he’s good now.

“A week afterward I found out I was pregnant and I told his mum, I hadn’t told any of my family yet because I was just scared.”

After finding out the good news, her mother-in-law asked her to send over a picture of the pregnancy test.

Although she was confused by the request because she’s “not a liar”, she sent the proof to her anyway.

Continuing, Morgan explained: “Not even five minutes later I get a ping from Facebook saying I was tagged in a post.

“She posted my pregnancy tests and announced to everybody that I was pregnant, online for everyone to see.

“I hadn’t told my family yet, I was p***ed, so mad, I wanted to fight her.”

Since being posted her video has been liked more than 7,000 times and received 100 comments from viewers who were stunned by her mother-in-law’s behaviour.

One said: “NO one should announce your events before you.”

Another said: “Oh my gawd. I’m already so triggered”, while a third added: “That’s already a red flag not to trust her.”

Many others also shared their own experiences, as one said: “My ex’s mom did this with my ultrasound picture. She INSISTED she wanted a copy herself. I [gave] her one and she posted it on social media.”

And another added: “My [mother-in-law] did the [same] damn thing. Hadn’t had the chance to tell my dad yet. I feel for you girl.”
